Download How To Get Away With Murder books, How To Get Away With Murder: Evil Masterminds Who Evaded Capture "There appear to be two types of situations in which one can be said to literally get away with murder. The first, and most common, is that the killer remained unknown until his criminal activity stopped. The second is that the killer was apprehended and tried, but was found innocent due to lack of evidence, loopholes in the justice system, or some other type of underhanded tactic. The cases which follow are all instances in which a perpetrator of a horrific crime evaded capture and continued to live their lives without repercussion. For each case, the actual truth is entirely unknown, and there exists the very real possibility that the killer (or killers) were imprisoned, died or suffered a similar deserved fate once their crimes ceased."Contains shocking true stories of evil murderers who got off scot-free, including serial killers who still remain at large. How To Get Away With Murder paints the true stories of some of the most horrific criminals to escape true justice.

Download Getting Away With Murder books, Getting Away With Murder is an explosive investigation into the death of an American hero, the strange case of the “American Taliban,” and why we never got the truth about either—until now. When John Walker Lindh was arrested in November 2001, Americans were shocked to learn that one of our own had fought for the Taliban. He would come under further fire for the torture and death of CIA officer Mike Spann. The American public was outraged, and the Bush administration vowed to make an example of the traitor. Why then, after threatening treason and the death penalty, did the government suddenly abandon a trial in favor of a soft plea deal? Richard D. Mahoney puts these questions on trial; the final verdict promises to be shocking.

Getting Away With Murder

Getting Away With Murder by Duncan McNab, Getting Away With Murder Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Getting Away With Murder books, From 1977 to the end of 1986, Duncan McNab was a member of the NSW Police Force. Most of his service was in criminal investigation. The many unsolved deaths and disappearances of young gay men are the crimes that continue to haunt him. Around 80 men died or disappeared in NSW from the late 70s to early 90s during an epidemic of gay-hate crimes. The line between a vicious assault and murder is a slender one and this was a time of brutal attacks on gay men, featuring gangs of young thugs like the 'Parkside Killers' and 'Bondi Boys', who took to the growing gay rights community with fists and feet. Even more troubling are incidents in which gay men disappeared and have never been found, or where deaths were initially dismissed by the NSW Police as either misadventure or suicide. We now know that a number of these men were hunted down by gangs and thrown over beachside cliffs near the nation's top tourist spots. Investigation of crimes against gay men wasn't always high on the list of priorities for the police and over twenty years later they are still slow to come to grips with their own dismal track record. The families of the victims, and some journalists, have not given up and continue to push the NSW Police Force for more answers. This book is the story of a unique time in our history when social change, politics, devastating disease and police culture collided, and you could get away with murder.

Disgraceland

Getting Away With Murder by Jake Brennan, Disgraceland Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Disgraceland books, From the creator of the popular rock 'n' roll true crime podcast, DISGRACELAND comes an off-kilter, hysterical, at times macabre book of stories from the highly entertaining underbelly of music history. You may know Jerry Lee Lewis married his thirteen-year-old cousin but did you know he shot his bass player in the chest with a shotgun or that a couple of his wives died under extremely mysterious circumstances? Or that Sam Cooke was shot dead in a seedy motel after barging into the manager's office naked to attack her? Maybe not. Would it change your view of him if you knew that, or would your love for his music triumph? Real rock stars do truly insane thing and invite truly insane things to happen to them; murder, drug trafficking, rape, cannibalism and the occult. We allow this behavior. We are complicit because a rock star behaving badly is what's expected. It's baked into the cake. Deep down, way down, past all of our self-righteous notions of justice and right and wrong, when it comes down to it, we want our rock stars to be bad. We know the music industry is full of demons, ones that drove Elvis Presley, Phil Spector, Sid Vicious and that consumed the Norwegian Black Metal scene. We want to believe in the myths because they're so damn entertaining. DISGRACELAND is a collection of the best of these stories about some of the music world's most beloved stars and their crimes. It will mix all-new, untold stories with expanded stories from the first two seasons of the Disgraceland podcast. Using figures we already recognize, DISGRACELAND shines a light into the dark corners of their fame revealing the fine line that separates heroes and villains as well as the danger Americans seek out in their news cycles, tabloids, reality shows and soap operas. At the center of this collection of stories is the ever-fascinating music industry--a glittery stage populated by gangsters, drug dealers, pimps, groupies with violence, scandal and pure unadulterated rock 'n' roll entertainment.

Download When She Was Bad books, In this provocative book, award-winning journalist Patricia Pearson argues that our culture is in denial of women's innate capacity for aggression. We don't believe that women batter their husbands or abuse the majority of children in North America. We ignore the 200 percent increase in crime by women in a period when most crime statistics are dropping. Pearson weaves the stories of women such as Karla Homolka and Mary Beth Tinning (who smothered eight of her children) with the results of criminologists and psychiatrists to expose the myth of female innocence.

Getting Away With Murder by Dean Jobb, The Case Of The Murderous Dr Cream Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Case Of The Murderous Dr Cream books, “A tour de force of storytelling.” —Louise Penny, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Chief Inspector Gamache series “Jobb’s excellent storytelling makes the book a pleasure to read.” —The New York Times Book Review ”When a doctor does go wrong he is the first of criminals,” Sherlock Holmes observed during one of his most baffling investigations. “He has nerve and he has knowledge.” In the span of fifteen years, Dr. Thomas Neill Cream murdered as many as ten people in the United States, Britain, and Canada, a death toll with almost no precedent. Poison was his weapon of choice. Largely forgotten today, this villain was as brazen as the notorious Jack the Ripper. Structured around the doctor’s London murder trial in 1892, when he was finally brought to justice, The Case of the Murderous Dr. Cream exposes the blind trust given to medical practitioners, as well as the flawed detection methods, bungled investigations, corrupt officials, and stifling morality of Victorian society that allowed Dr. Cream to prey on vulnerable and desperate women, many of whom had turned to him for medical help. Dean Jobb transports readers to the late nineteenth century as Scotland Yard traces Dr. Cream’s life through Canada and Chicago and finally to London, where new investigative tools called forensics were just coming into use, even as most police departments still scoffed at using science to solve crimes. But then, most investigators could hardly imagine that serial killers existed—the term was unknown. As the Chicago Tribune wrote, Dr. Cream’s crimes marked the emergence of a new breed of killer: one who operated without motive or remorse, who “murdered simply for the sake of murder.” For fans of Erik Larson’s The Devil in the White City, all things Sherlock Holmes, or the podcast My Favorite Murder, The Case of the Murderous Dr. Cream is an unforgettable true crime story from a master of the genre.

Corporate Crime And Punishment

Getting Away With Murder by John C. Coffee Jr., Corporate Crime And Punishment Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Corporate Crime And Punishment books, “Professor Coffee's compelling new approach to holding fraudsters to account is indispensable reading for any lawmaker serious about deterring corporate crime.” —Robert Jackson, former Commissioner, Securities and Exchange Commission In the early 2000s, federal enforcement efforts sent white collar criminals at Enron and WorldCom to prison. But since the 2008 financial collapse, this famously hasn't happened. Corporations have been permitted to enter into deferred prosecution agreements and avoid criminal convictions, in part due to a mistaken assumption that leniency would encourage cooperation and because enforcement agencies don't have the funding or staff to pursue lengthy prosecutions, says distinguished Columbia Law Professor John C. Coffee. “We are moving from a system of justice for organizational crime that mixed carrots and sticks to one that is all carrots and no sticks,” he says. He offers a series of bold proposals for ensuring that corporate malfeasance can once again be punished. For example, he describes incentives that could be offered to both corporate executives to turn in their corporations and to corporations to turn in their executives, allowing prosecutors to play them off against each other. Whistleblowers should be offered cash bounties to come forward because, Coffee writes, “it is easier and cheaper to buy information than seek to discover it in adversarial proceedings.” All federal enforcement agencies should be able to hire outside counsel on a contingency fee basis, which would cost the public nothing and provide access to discovery and litigation expertise the agencies don't have. Through these and other equally controversial ideas, Coffee intends to rebalance the scales of justice.

Download Getting Away With Murder books, In March 1969, twins Reggie and Ronnie Kray were sentenced to life imprisonment for the gangland killings of George Cornell and Jack "the hat" McVitie. It was recommended that they served at least 30 years for their crimes. But why such strong sentences? Were there other murders? At last the truth can be told. The authors have negotiated rare interviews with the people close to the Krays criminal activities, people who have never stepped forward before but have done so now to tell the truth concerning the East End's bloodiest killers. This is the shocking true story of the Krays' reign of terror. With a special foreword by ex-gangster Eric Mason, this is the most authentic first-hand document of the Kray Twins.
