Discover Cold Fusion

Cold Fusion by Ruby Carat, Discover Cold Fusion Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Discover Cold Fusion books, It was a revolutionary new source of energy that could save the planet from mass extinction. But when two chemists shared their scientific discovery with the world, there was anything but jubilation. Critics said it defied the laws of physics and couldn’t be replicated. It was shear luck that a small band of scientists were able to confirm the excess heat energy that Drs. Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons generated in tiny table-top cells. And there was more. Reports of unusual and anomalous effects. How did a small chemistry experiment turn into one of the greatest scientific mysteries ever encountered? And will ultra-clean power generators be ready to save the world before it’s too late? Now for the first time ever in graphical form, an incredible story of scientific courage based on true events. Scripted by Ruby Carat and illustrated by Matt Howarth, this Limited Edition 32-page B&W comic with full-color cover art delivers science like you’ve never seen it. Researchers Michael McKubre and Melvin Miles acted as consultants bringing the drama of Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons’ discovery succinctly to historical focus, showing how the globe came together to follow the truth, no matter where it would lead.

Carbon Dating Cold Fusion And A Curve Ball

Cold Fusion by David D. Moon, Carbon Dating Cold Fusion And A Curve Ball Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Carbon Dating Cold Fusion And A Curve Ball books, Paleontologists and geologists are interested in the ages of fossils, rocks, and minerals, from which they deduce the ages of geologic strata in the Geologic Column. Scientists make use of radioactive dating methods, such as the radioactive decays of carbon 14, uranium 238, and thorium 232 in fossils and minerals. Accurate age determinations depend on knowing the rate of the radioactive emissions and the relative amounts of initial and product elements in the decay series. However, if an interfering nuclear change took place earlier, the perceived age of the earth deposit would have to be wrong. In 1989, the discovery of cold fusion-the fusion of hydrogen to make helium and energy inside metal electrodes at room temperature-was announced by Drs. Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons at the University of Utah. Soon after, cold fusion research also revealed that nuclear transmutations, forming many new elements, occur liberally. Even purposely-added radioactive uranium and thorium in cold fusion-type cells resulted in transmutations, and the disappearance of up to 95 percent of the radioactivity in hours or minutes. In addition, special water pumps, invented in America and Europe, were discovered to generate "excess heat" and possible nuclear effects by intensely agitating water and creating "cavitation bubbles." In Carbon Dating, Cold Fusion, and a Curve Ball, the author postulates interfering nuclear (element) changes occurring in the Earth, and proposes that extensive element transmutations occurred from intense hydrodynamics during the Flood of Noah (Genesis 6-8). If so, it is conceivable much alteration of radioactive elements took place, rendering unreliable the radioactive dating results in most analyses done today. A relatively simple test of this theory is outlined. The test would use a piece of bismuth metal, a tank of water, and a boat's outboard motor. The book is written for the non-scientist, but those trained in the physical sciences or engineering are invited to examine the new hypothesis of Earth's element transmutations and the consequential alteration of dating earth material by radioactive elements.

Too Hot To Handle

Cold Fusion by Frank Close, Too Hot To Handle Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Too Hot To Handle books, Frank Close, a leading physicist and talented popular science writer, reveals the true story of the cold fusion controversy--a story ignored until now in spite of the glare of publicity surrounding Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons. On March 23, 1989, these two Utah scientists held an astonishing press conference, maintaining that they had succeeded, working in secret, in harnessing atomic fusion. What was the basis for their claims to have achieved cold fusion in a test tube in a basement laboratory, while other scientists--using magnets as big as houses and temperatures hotter than those in the center of the sun--were failing to produce as much power as they were using? Why did Fleischmann and Pons proclaim their "discovery" at a news conference, when first announcements of scientific results are almost always made within the scientific community? Why did the full-blown media event inspired by their initial report cause governments to reorient their research programs in hopes of cornering the "new technology"? And why did some scientists recklessly abandon their traditional painstaking methods in haste to be first to prove or discredit the experiment? Acquainted at first hand with investigations of cold fusion on two continents, Close is uniquely qualified to probe the motivations behind Fleischmann's and Pons's startling assertions and to explore the intellectual and political turmoil that surrounded the cold fusion debate. Cold Nuclear Fusion

Cold Fusion by Florian Ion Petrescu, Cold Nuclear Fusion Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Cold Nuclear Fusion books, Nuclear fusion is the process by which two or more atomic nuclei join together, or "fuse," to form a single heavier nucleus. During this process, matter is not conserved because some of the mass of the fusing nuclei is converted to energy which is released. The binding energy of the resulting nucleus is greater than the binding energy of each of the nuclei that fused to produce it. Fusion is the process that powers active stars. Creating the required conditions for fusion on Earth is very difficult, to the point that it has not been accomplished at any scale for protium, the common light isotope of hydrogen that undergoes natural fusion in stars. In nuclear weapons, some of the energy released by an atomic bomb (fission bomb) is used for compressing and heating a fusion fuel containing heavier isotopes of hydrogen, and also sometimes lithium, to the point of "ignition." At this point, the energy released in the fusion reactions is enough to briefly maintain the reaction. Fusion-based nuclear power experiments attempt to create similar conditions using far lesser means, although to date these experiments have failed to maintain conditions needed for ignition long enough for fusion to be a viable commercial power source.

The Status Of Cold Fusion

Cold Fusion by David Nagel, The Status Of Cold Fusion Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Status Of Cold Fusion books, The questions raised by reports of nuclear reactions at low energies, so called 'cold fusion, ' are not yet answered to the satisfaction of many scientists. Further experimental investigations of these and related questions seems desirable, at least for scientific if not practical reasons. Properly conducted, such investigations would be indistinguishable from normal research. They would yield information germane to accepted areas of scientific inquiry and technological utility. The announcement on 23 March 1989 by Pons and Fleischmann that they had achieved power generation from nuclear reactions at ordinary temperature had a rapid and enormous impact. About six weeks later, the cover stories of three major popular news magazines in the U.S. were on 'cold fusion'. The response to the prospect of easy and inexhaustible energy, maybe with little residual radiation, was comparable to the public reaction to Roentgen's report of x-rays in 1895. Then it was thought that privacy would no longer be possible. The strength of the 'cold fusion' surprise had two bases. One was the strong knowledge, on the part of physicists, that high energy beams (or equivalently, high temperature plasmas, with their associated high particle velocities) are needed to force nuclei into contact, a prerequisite for their reaction. Physicists had worked hard for four decades, and spent billions of dollars, in only partially successful efforts to produce and contain the multi-million degree plasmas needed to get significant energy out of nuclear fusion. Despite the major progress on heating fusion plasmas, and on overcoming many instabilities which tend to destroy plasma containment, three milestones remain to make fusion energy useful.
